BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | A youthful example, dark-skinned, powerful, smoky rich, long, the fruit hitherto raw and unreconstructed. There’s a bitterness on the finish that only time and patience might conspire to displace. | 88

Andrew Jefford | Dense, dark black-red out to a purple rim. Warm, ample, almost toffeed aromas: sweet and plush and enticing, with some earth and chocolate back notes. Soft, sweet, chocolaty, and mouth-filling on the palate. Deep and searching, with fine tannins to back the wine. Long, comely, beguiling. | 89

Richard Mayson | Demure with underlying ripe berry fruit, perhaps still a bit angular with concentration underneath. Fairly full, firm ripe fruit, with a good tight-knit spicy tannic core that manifests itself onto the finish. Lovely length and definition here, too. | 94
