BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin | Big, bold, and full-bodied. Scented with notes of Mediterranean herbs. Plush and a little jammy, with fig, raspberry, and wild-strawberry fruit; good minerality and underlying freshness, as well as deftly integrated oak. Still young. Mineral finish. | 93

Simon Field | Deep obsidian core, and a nose to match: bitter chocolate, mocha, and dark fruits. An attractive sweetness, too, beguiling and hard to resist. The palate is overrun with tightly composed tannins, the firm acidity shard-like in buttressing support. Nice length and plenty of potential. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red and still opaque at the core. Warm, earthy-sweet, and sensual, with lots of fruited flesh; very attractive yet affable and approachable aromas. Dense, deep, and full on the palate, with freshness, as well as richness. The tannins are still briskly in evidence but are better bonded with the fruits than in many of its vintage peers. This is a wine that could be aged with profit for half a decade, though it drinks well now, too. | 90
