Tim Atkin | Dried herbs, aromatic and savory. Balsamic and appealing, if a little lacking in weight and concentration. Drink up. | 88
Simon Field | Deep ruby, blood brick at the rim. A nose of fennel, graphite, white pepper, and blue fruit, violets, and a hint of summer jasmine. Warming and seductive; the palate rejoins the oaky tannic interface with dextrous skill, an impressive line of acidity buttressing the structure and pointing forward, in evolutionary terms. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red but now translucent. Rather tired, sinewy, stalky aromas, with prune fruits and evident oak. Perhaps I am being unfair, since there is still much to enjoy here, and it has classical appeal, but for me it doesn’t bear close scrutiny, and there is a mixed ripeness issue in here somewhere. All of this is exactly what you find on the palate and overall: I feel this wine is disappointing, though drinkable. | 81
