Simon Field | Deep corvid hue at the core; a hint of auburn at the rim, garnet maybe. An expressive aromatic of granite after rain, blackcurrant leaf, and a whisper of maple syrup. Plums, damsons, and fireworks, all very promising. The faintly resinous note places this in the south of France, in a forest maybe, surrounded by dry pine and, on the hillside, scrub; thyme and laurel, then garrigue; a distinctive southern leitmotif. The generosity of fruit is held in check with great skill by the structure, with the leafy acidity running a line of beauty though the ensemble. | 94
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Warm, sweet, and expressive: lavender, cistus, and citrus. Terrasses du Larzac in its most Mediterranean guise, but refined and attractive. More aromatically opulent than most. Deep, vivid, complex, and long, yet in a way fresh and juicy, too, with the usual masterful and structuring acidity of the vintage. Complete and engaging, thanks to its aromatic intrigue. | 90
Anthony Rose | This shows good youthful ruby colors, and the perfume of red fruit and spice draws you into a wine with a richness of texture and opulent blackberry juiciness that spreads across the tongue and expands in the mouth with flavor and texture, the tannin even at this youthful stage being nicely resolved and the oak suggested as part of the texture rather than in the way of the flavors, resulting in a thoroughly satisfying mouthful of wine. | 92
