Simon Field | Deep episcopal crimson, very modest fade. And then aromas dominated by plums, wild cherries, and smoke; youthful, just a hint of reduction soon vanquished. The palate resonates to the tune of ripe dark fruit, cherries, and plum once again; figs, hearthside, crushed rock, and soft herbs. Very complete and not without a capacity to develop yet further. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red; translucent, but ample depth of color remains. A hint of reduction as freshly poured, but this quickly clears, leaving warm, resonant, and savory aromas that have acquired harmony over the past four years but still glow with full articulacy. There is no affectation or exaggeration: serene, deep, understated, and nuanced. Lovely depth, density, roundness, and harmony on the palate. It’s not a showy wine in any way, but it’s at its peak now, and it delivers lots of quiet Languedoc satisfaction. | 91
Anthony Rose | First bottle oxidized. Second bottle: A deepish youthful ruby. This is pleasantly scented with some mulberry-like fruitiness, a light spicy note, and good weight, with a firmish structure of quite grippy tannins that are only now starting to evolve and soften down, though given its stage of maturity, I’m not sure that the fruit will, in the long run, outlive the astringent note of dryness on the finish. | 88
