Simon Field | Dark-ruby, a hint of Victorian brickwork, stained by the elements. Classic Languedoc nose; red-fruit exuberance from Grenache, tempered by the more restrained bedfellows; hints of scrubland and pine, even a little menthol, courtesy the Mourvèdre, perhaps. The palate is lively, confident, and powerful, the camphor cassis cadenza playing out well despite relative youth. Full of Mediterranean promise. | 94
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red; bright and clear. Sweet, warm, black cherry fruits, a little thyme flower, too: comely and beguiling. Concentrated, dry, and deep, with more herbal refinement than the aromas suggested. A very aromatic palate, too, and ample shaping tannins. As always with Languedoc, there is pronounced bitterness in the finish, of the aromatic, noble kind. Stylish and serious wine and very much of its place. | 90
Anthony Rose | Rather pale in color, this is quite shy in aroma, showing sweet red-berry fruit on first taste and framed by some quite chunky tannins and robust acidity, leaving an impression of dryness. The tannins need to resolve, but whether or not they do so before the fruit dries up remains a moot point. | 86
