Simon Field | Bright brick ruby-red. Nose of late-season plum, autumn leaves, jambon cru, and a hint of angelica root. The palate is dextrous and loose- limbed, the dark fruit buttressed by quite severe tannins, but the shard of crisp acidity underpins the edifice to great effect. There is a savory indulgence here that beholds the Mediterranean backdrop and a generosity that is equally and appropriately diverting. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep, black-red. Oaky and somewhat mentholated/resinous, though not unattractive. Ditto on the palate: I would back away from the oak here, though the wine is very solid and drinkable. | 87
Anthony Rose | Plenty of youthful color and ripeness of mulberry fruit in the aromas. This appealing red-fruit character follows through to the taste of the wine, whose texture is nimbly assisted by a rounding out from sub-threshold, or certainly imperceptible, oak. The result is an enjoyable red that’s well put together and underpinned by an attractive balancing freshness. | 89
