Simon Field | Restrained ruby, a little forlorn somehow. The nose attacks with recollections of dusty attics but, with time, perks up a little, and the dominant notes are of ripe cherries, late-season plums, and a whiff of the fireside. The palate is a little lean, the tannins drying and domineering. Youth is on its side, however, and the fruit may emerge, unscathed, over the next two to three years. | 88
Andrew Jefford | Clear red-purple in color. Fresh and alluring aromas of blackcurrant with citrus blossoms and peels—some lovely Languedoc Syrah in here from a location without too much heat. Vivid, fresh, and pure on the palate, with ample acidity and some brisk tannins. Driving fruit center-stage, in an almost squeezed style. | 88
Anthony Rose | A nice youthful ruby in color. This smells fresh and berry-like, with good sweetly ripe berry fruit framed by some still youthfully sinewy tannins and bolstered by juicy acidity. If drunk young, this wine is going to need some robust food to wash it down. | 89
