Simon Field | Youthful ruby-red. The nose is a little reduced: camphor, blueberries, and autumnal firesides. The palate is somewhat dissonant, with the acidity and tannins playing out a patient stand-off, the outcome of which is far from clear. Drying tannins may be in the ascendant to date, but it’s hard to gainsay the outcome. Maybe there is a little volatility, too... | 86
Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep red. Slightly reduced aromas here; foursquare fruits beneath. Will look again in ten minutes... The reduction has cleared somewhat—but it’s still foursquare and in fact giving little in its place. It has a dry intensity but is somewhat slender; tart and dry on the finish. This reads rather harshly. It is an enjoyable, gastronomically apt Terrasses du Larzac, but it does lack aromatic finesse and palate width and density. | 85
Anthony Rose | Medium ruby in color, this is showing some evolution in the glass. It’s a bit dumb in aroma, but there’s at least some quite attractively ripe and juicy textured fruit in the red fruits spectrum. The oak is sub-threshold, too, but the tannins are a tad drying, and that makes the wine taste shorter than you’d like it to. | 87
