Simon Field | Dense color, youthful all the way through; aeration cedes a generous fruit character, ripe and expressive, herbs, spice, and a whisper of oak. The palate is actually less strident than some, layered for sure, but with a felicitous texture that grants quarter in the light of the density of the fruit in a warm, drought-ridden year. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Sweet, fresh fruits with some oak, but well managed: appealing if not profound or evidently ambitious. Very sound, though. Soft and deep, with attractive licorice and juniper, complementing the fresh plum and damson. A tasty wine of modest but soundly realized ambitions. Lots of deftly drawn detail here, complementing the honest, pure fruit. | 90
Anthony Rose | Behind a good youthful color in this wine, and an alluring fragrance to match. There’s a cherry-sweet fruit quality and savory counterpoint, with a fruit whose lightness of touch belies a beautifully balanced, delightfully juicy red with “drinkability” written all over its commendably sweet/savory combination of texture and flavors. If there’s oak, you don’t feel it, thanks to the excellent overall balance. | 94
