Simon Field | Squid ink color; as always with Cahors, an aubergine phosphorescence never far away. The nose offers us mints, well-stashed woolens, and a hint of pine resin. The tannins are fine in detail, very pure and elegant, measured and built for the long haul. The fruit has not been overworked, therefore there is an attractive, almost ethereal character, hard to believe on the basis of the power of the structural components. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Dark, dense, black-purple red, with a purple rim. Bright plum and damson fruit with a kind of floury cereal sweetness, too: attractive and forthright, if a touch simple. That’s exactly what the palate delivers: excellent depth and purity of classic fruits, and attractive freshness, energy, and lift, too. The cereal (or vegetal) sweetness works well with the fruits, but the overall effect is just a little simple. Nonetheless, an excellent Cahors, and as ever here, further bottle maturation may solve the conundrum. | 92
Anthony Rose | Bright in color, this is attractively scented and bright, too, in its lively cherry fruit quality, which, supported by sub-threshold oak, turns halfway through drinking from a nice feeling of fruit richness to a more savory, mouthwateringly dry, almost saline finish. Satisfying, well made, and very enjoyable. | 91
