Simon Field | Deep, fathomless core; the darkest of wine- dark seas; a Byronic mirror—one look should be enough to be tied irrevocably. A delightful nose of lanolin, ripe and crushed raspberry, rocks also crushed, and chalk, too, while we are at it... This latent promise is confirmed on the palate, the raw grip of the fruit persuasive, with savory notes, tight tannins, gastronomic power—lots to like here. And then a lot more. | 94

Andrew Jefford | Dense, dark black-purple in color, with a purple rim; still opaque at the core. Warm yet fresh plum and warm-stone scents, with clean spices and lanolin bringing complexity. A very pretty yet striking Cahors nose. This is lovely, exuberant wine on the palate, with lots of billowing, ripe fruit, juicy and fresh. Absolutely delicious though not notably ambitious—I wouldn’t keep it for much longer, for example. But it’s good. | 91

Anthony Rose | Bright in color, a tad shy in aroma. There is some fruit sweetness if you can find it, but the level of extraction makes the tannins stand out on the tongue in such a way that the fruit is rather drowned out by what would potentially be balancing elements if there were sufficient fruit to make this wine more enjoyable. | 86
