Simon Field | Regal purple with a nose of leather, plum, and violets. Youthful, evolving rapidly, iodine and white pepper behind the fruit; needs a good swirl! The tannins dry the palate with, as anticipated, rigor and efficiency. The youthful austerity is precise and rigorous, and quite probably promises much, such is the structural harmony. One to revisit. | 87
Andrew Jefford | Saturated, dense black-red with a purple rim. Sweet, warm, fresh fruits with a little oak: attractively sweetened damson and plum. Dark, deep, and searching; lots of primary plum-damson excitement, and this is certainly a wine that could be aged for much longer, yet the tannins aren’t forbidding at this stage, and the acidity is discreet and fruit-sustaining. A beautifully exuberant and accessible young Cahors, with real quality driving it all forward into time. | 91
Anthony Rose | Bright, brooding, and youthful in color, this is perfumed and approachable. And when you taste, there’s an almost surprising amount of rich, dark-berry fruit sweetness whose bitter- chocolaty edge adds another dimension. The suppleness of texture in a wine this young, with oak so well integrated, makes this a drink that, while enjoyable now, should keep on keeping on for three to seven years, no sweat. | 93
