BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Raven black at the core; only a modest hint of garnet to betray a little bottle age. There is a little volatility on the palate that, when allied to the drying tannins, confirms the tradition of expectation equated with the region but does not fully give the lie to a potential to develop, maybe over an extended period of time. | 88

Andrew Jefford | Dark, dense black-red, though just easing away from opacity. Some prominent fruits but in mature, secondary style. The wood is still apparent. Soft-textured and rather easygoing mature wine that I wouldn’t store for much longer. | 84

Anthony Rose | Relatively youthful in color. This is fresh and fragrantly spicy in its evolved way, combining a touch of oak spiciness with an appealing damson fruit quality in which the oak has now integrated to create a whole that’s greater than the sum. A nicely evolving red, with savory elements in a sinewy structure, still with time to go. | 91
