Andrew Jefford | Pale gold; bright. Wow: This is very different, very entrancing. Perfumed cream, as if violets had been pounded into chantilly. There are also oranges and tangerines and fresh nectarine: a totally intoxicating aroma. Wonderful efforts here. Very perfumed on the palate, too—indeed, almost uncannily so, with more violets and tangerines. Dramatically aromatic and articulate Riesling from a special site, evidently. A narrative to itself. Structured and long and perfumed to the last drop. Alsace, because of the cream and singular perfume, but as ever with no confidence. The acidity is very prominent, perhaps overly so for Alsace. | 94
Stephan Reinhardt | This straw-yellow Riesling opens with an elegant yet also intensely aromatic bouquet of weathered, chalky limestone, with refreshing lemon as well as ripe stone-fruit and canned- tangerine aromas. Round and generous yet also refined and elegant on the palate, with the finest phenolics and a ripe, well-integrated acidity, this is an impressively intense and balanced Riesling with lots of floral and, in particular, Traminer-similar scents on the finish, which is finely bitter and just perfectly round. A mouthful of gorgeous Riesling from limestone. 2021–45. | 94
Anthony Rose | Behind the pale golden hue of this Riesling, there’s an appealing stone-fruit sweetness of aroma, a suggestion of exotic ripeness, an appealing richness of flavor, thanks to not just ripeness but a concentration of fruit that is well supported by a textural richness and a feeling of natural, balancing acidity. | 92
