Andrew Jefford | Pale gold. Not a wholly successful aroma; a slight varnishy note occludes the fruit a little. Dry yet slightly tart on the palate, though impressive concentration by dint of the wine’s acidity makes furrows down the tongue. I have tried a second bottle, which is the same. Not sure if this is really “the wine” or if we have been unlucky enough to hit two difficult corks. No clear TCA, but the fruit is compromised aromatically speaking, so this is a bracketed provisional score that reflects the hugely impressive fruit intensity here. | 92
Anthony Rose | Pale in color, this is pleasingly floral and appley in aroma, with an attractive, juicy, stone- fruit textural quality. And behind the overt, full-bodied, mouth-filling fruitiness is a stony, almost mineral streak that ends up running in tandem with the fruit in an expressive combination of fruit and minerals. The result is a finish that’s appetizingly dry and cries out for shellfish. | 92
