Andrew Jefford | Bright mid-gold. The aromas here are quite earthy, dense, almost animal rather than fruity— almost as if you were smelling the hillside (flora and fauna) rather than the fruits. Lots there, and emotionally engaging. Deep and complex, with vinosity, earthiness, and fruit compote flavors that draw on both summer and autumn. I’m not a fan of animal notes in Riesling aromatic profiles, so I don’t find this exquisite, but it is a thoroughly distinguished wine, with depth, concentration, drive, resonance, and ample allusions to the natural world. Natural, even the best sort of natural, and I’ve really enjoyed tasting it, and I would love to drink it over an hour or two. Beyond Rhine, I’m a bit lost here, since it is a kind of vin d’auteur, as well as a wine of place, but let’s say Alsace based on wealth of flavor. Great site, for sure, and I would say a naturalista approach. | 92

Stephan Reinhardt | This intensely golden-yellow Riesling is pure yet intense and aromatic on the herbal flavored but pretty reductive nose. Pure, refined, and very elegant on the palate, this is a powerful, structured, and tense yet also lush and salty- piquant Riesling, with good grip, yet not the inner length of a really great wine. Somewhat numb on the aftertaste. Lots of power here but not much finesse, and fine, mineral drive. 2021-30. | 92

Anthony Rose | Pale lemon in color, this is fresh and intensely fragrant, showing ripeness of stone fruit and just a touch of cinnamon-like spiciness. There’s a faint fresh prickle on the tongue, and the opulent stone- fruit flavors here are nicely framed by a citrus zestiness that refreshes the tongue and adds a tangy dryness to the enterprise. | 92
