BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Powerfully sculpted, more intense than unctuous, long, firm, intense. | 18

Michael Schuster | Inky color for the vintage; a touch raisiny-ripe to smell; vigor, concentration, vitality, structure; briskly ripe fruit, long, close-grained, aromatic, and elegant to taste, with considerable complexity alongside its considerable structure, and with an excellent persistence of fruit and aroma on the finish. While not a particularly big wine for Pavie, this is nonetheless a fairly masculine interpretation of what is, for most wines, a more feminine year. And this will likely need a good decade to begin to mellow. 2025–35. | 17
