Simon Field | Delicate straw gold, soft at the rim, then a nose of equal modesty, pineapple, banana, preserved lemon, and orchard fruit. One senses proportion and balance—maybe just a little modesty in terms of intensity of flavor. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Bright old-gold. Luscious, sweet lanolin and barley-sugar richness: a super nose here. Very fragrant and enticing: rich, yet lemony fresh, too. Even the lime-leaf and lime-flower note of the Central European high summer. Perky and expressive. Luscious and full here, too, very sweet, textured, weighty, with some of that lime-leaf freshness to lift the fruit. Admirable second wine, which surely in this instance can’t be far short of the first. All it lacks is complexity and inner tension. But feel the width! And there is plenty of aromatic complexity to come for sure. Super work here. | 91
