BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red, just beyond opacity now. Corked. | NS

Michael Schuster | Very closed to smell; full, vital, tannic wine, a typically long-term Trotte Vieille constitution; plenty of ripe fruit framed by a firm, chewy tannin, long and subtle within that frame, complex, aromatic, mouth-coating, and persistent within. A sort of ruggedly stated refinement, reflecting its winemaking more than its vintage and origin. The wines do eventually come round, and indeed show their class, but my goodness, they need time. Great patience will be required. 2035–47+. | 92
