Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red. Richly composed and very ripe fruits for de Pez, though not unattractively so; indeed, quite the contrary; this is sturdily enticing, without either exaggerated oak or overripe fruit. Beckoning and engaging in equal measure. On the palate, too, the density and force which the aromas suggested are delivered, and everything in the wine is built around a singing core of concentrated, beautifully ripened fruit. The tannins are generous yet supple and supportive, and the wine has precision and freshness, too. A really successful de Pez in 2016: Bravo! | 90
Michael Schuster | Gentle, ripe, blackcurrant nose; very nicely balanced, full-bodied wine, fresh in acidity and finely dry in tannin; sweet and easy in flavour, with a moderate complexity and good light length. Easy, agreeable St-Estèphe, accessible early and with plenty to please. 2022–30+. | 89
