Very fresh, appetizing, and appealing. This is beautifully concentrated, dramatic, and brisk, its ringing acidity incorporated into the close-knit blackcurrant and plum yet with no shortage of tannin and texture, either. With Phélan-Ségur you will never be getting lushness or succulence, but for out-and-out classicism and poise this is hard to beat. An outstanding effort. | 90
