Andrew Jefford | Dark, opaque black-red in color. Sweet, warm, ripe, and alluring, with a creamy fullness but little of the fresh curranty classicism we saw in some of the other wines and communes. Enjoyable and expansive nonetheless, and just a little Pauillac beefiness to bring a smile to drinker’s faces. A relatively lavish Clerc Milon is what the aromas suggest. On the palate, this is a much smoother, ampler, and more artfully disposed wine than its sibling d’Armailhac. There are deliciously dramatic blackcurrant fruits backed by fine tannins and an intrinsic creamy wealth. An excellent buy, and another wine to underscore the vintage’s brilliance of balance between freshness and amplitude. | 93
Michael Schuster | A particularly seductive, blackberry sweet nose; full-bodied, concentrated wine, fresh in acidity, firm in tannin; deep and savory to taste, long and complex, rich and fleshy but also firmly defined Pauillac; a Clerc Milon of considerable scope and class, with an abundance of flavor and with excellent length. Lovely, classy Clerc, with a very long-term constitution. Will need considerable time. 2035–50+. | 93
