Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: The oak shows just a touch too much creosote. But otherwise this is a well-rounded Pauillac, with lovely, mouth-filling substance, those notes of prunes typical of very ripe vintages, and assertive tannins. A long-awaited improvement that—given the capricious vintage—places this wine above the Margaux made by the same team. 16.5
