Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red though not opaque; scarlet rim. Sweet, warm, open, and allusive, almost honeyed aromas; there’s a quiet floral note here, too. A very different aromatic style to most of its peers, though one with lots of charm. On the palate, this is a seriously constituted wine with lots of secondary depths though little of the primary-fruit tightness some of its peers exhibit. Fewer flowers and less honey here than in the aromatics, but the wine has good complexity nonetheless. Open and expansive yet firmly knit withal. | 90
Michael Schuster | Dense, almost nutty, oak-cedar fine to smell; full, fresh, firmly tannic; quietly refined within its firm tannic frame, long, tasty, searching wine, an abundance of flavor, mouthcoating, grippy, aromatic, power without force, and with excellent fragrant length, too. A wine of considerable presence, and requiring considerable bottle age, but which should really reward long-term cellarage. 2035–50+. | 93
