Stephen Brook | The nose seems oakier than it probably is, but that doesn’t restrain the ripe citrus and apricot fruit. It’s poise and finesse rather than power that mark this wine, as is usually the case with Climens. Concentrated, of course, not too weighty or fleshy. There’s much in reserve and while accessible now, will clearly benefit from some more bottle age. The finish is effortlessly energetic. Very long, and needs cellaring. | 96
Andrew Jefford | Slightly richer gold than Coutet. This, though, is less ostentatiously sweet in aroma: honey, quince, lime blossom, and balsam. Haunting sweet things which insinuate but don’t insist, this bodes well for the future. Vivid and lively on the palate though a little less tightly sewn that some; very classically Barsac, with deliciously vivacious allusions underscored by balance and lift. | 92
