Michael Schuster | Fairly closed, but subtly blackcurrant and gently earthy on the nose; full, fresh, with a nice concentration, and lightly to moderately tannic; a classic dry, gravelly Pessac flavor here, but with a fine ripe fruit-core, a very nice length of flavor, great freshness, and fine aromatic length. A distinct change of style here, to something less obviously “fruit-plump” and more restrained and elegant, with more class and finesse. Very nice indeed. Eric Boissenot replaced Michel Rolland as the winemaking consultant in 2019. The improvement in refinement shows. 2028–45+.
