Michael Schuster | Dense and fine and restrained to smell, with the merest hint of slightly overripe Merlot; full-bodied, concentrated, tannic wine; deep, sweet, and imposing to taste, mouthcoating, gently warm, very firm but also fine-textured in tannin, long and complex across the palate, its 1er grand cru class clear to taste, and with fine, sweet, slightly fiery length. An ample, large- scale, long-term wine, perhaps with its power threatening a bit to dominate its class? Time will tell. Fine, of its particular, powerful type. Perhaps not quite up to its 2018? And it will certainly need a long time to mellow and harmonize. 2035–55+.
