Bruno Besa | Brilliant straw, golden. Mature, rich, clean, and complex yellow-fruits-and-flowers nose, with lemon, quince, peach, apricot, lemongrass, sage, and bay leaf. Mature, rich palate, with intense citrus-fruit character and a long, clean finish. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Pale steel-gold. Just a touch of sweaty reduction here, and some green-tea umami, too. A lot of work has gone into this, and it certainly has concentration and poise, with lots of overt, almost tropical, guava-like fruit and bright tropical-fruit acidity, too. An exciting interpretation of the style. | 88
Michael Palij | This has an astonishing, towering nose of rare complexity. Stone fruit, mineral, tropical fruit, nuts—this has it all! Massive in the mouth, with a honeyed, oily texture, ripe peach, apricot, and nectarine allied to mango and banana, with persimmon and passion fruit thrown in. The finish is amazing, with the alcohol and acidity perfectly balancing the fruit. An epic white—proof of the potential of Vermentino on this island. | 95
