Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: For once, this wine seemed quite unlike the Léoville, as if less evolved and less integrated with its oak. A fleshy sample, quite beefy, with tannins still on the stiff side and all the signs of a classic St-Julien. 16.5
Michael Schuster: Ripe, spicy nose; nicely balanced, brisk, juicy fruit-cored wine with a softly fresh acidity and firm tannin; sweet, even, aromatic flavor of some complexity and good, scented length. Good Langoa in a firmish style. Will need six to eight years. 2015–28. 15.5/16
