Bruno Besa | Brilliant, golden straw. Intense and clean yet restrained citrus-fruit character, with mandarin, lemon curd, fresh herbs, and crushed stones. Balanced palate; dry, with a complex citrus-fruit finish. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Bottle 1: A touch cardboardy. Bottle 2: Clean, fresh, softly lemony, intriguing. You might almost dream of a little scent of volcano in this, like a quiet distant cousin of Santorini. On the palate, it is very much as the aromas suggested: deep and driving and with that tephra-lime sinew that the Santorini analogy suggests. Another intriguing, serious Etna white, whose drinkability and gastronomic vocation take first place over showy allusive articulacy. Super wine: real structure, depth, and finesse here. | 94
Michael Palij | Young, tight, slightly reduced nose. Damp wool and peach on the nose, this has no weight on the palate to suggest that there is any fruit still requiring time to emerge from its shell. Difficult to imagine this improving. Second bottle distinctly better, but there’s still too much acidity and not enough fruit. | 82
