Andrew Jefford | Honeyed gold. Slightly murky/Marmitey aromas; ample development and some autumnal fruit at the bottom of it all, but just a little bit oppressive. Perhaps with air it will freshen and grow more nutty? I’ll give it a few minutes. Later: This does blossom somewhat with air, growing less malty and yeast-extracty. On the palate, it is deep, acidic, searching, almost a little raw, with some bitter notes on the finish. For me, I think the balance might have been better a year or two ago, though it is still very classic. | 86
