Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Brooding, blackcurrant nose with a touch of red fruits. Sleek and velvety; concentrated, bright, and stylish, made with a light touch. It’s the freshness rather than the depth that makes the immediate impression, but this stylishness is not easy to achieve. It’s not an imposing wine, but it’s graceful and true to Margaux. What it may lack is some persistence of flavor. 16
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Bright, lifted cherry fruit; fresh and engaging. Very light here; acidic though rounded. Balanced and tasty, but needs rapid drinking. 11.5
Michael Schuster: Very nice, plummy fruit on the nose. Fresh, rich, middleweight, with a fine, gentle tannin; very nicely balanced. Long, fine, delicate, freshly ripe, juicy, scented fruit on the palate, and with excellent, fragrant length. Very much the image of Margaux, and beautifully made, with no asperity, no intrusiveness of wood tannin, no excess. Lovely, gentle, fleshy Margaux. Accessible early because of such an easy balance, but should keep and develop harmoniously for many years. 2010–24. 16.5+
