BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Tension abounds, the wine is deeply stained and marked out by its perfume, the floral backdrop, the sinews of its racy acidity wrought into the roots of a powerful structure; aromatics and dark fruit conspire with the schistous backdrop to record indelible satisfaction. | 93

Andrew Jefford | Dark, dense black-red, just off opacity. Beefy, earthy scents with some animal funkiness to them; Bretty, for me. The palate is dense, close-knit, serious, and chewy, and in general this is a serious effort, but I can’t quite get to like (or overlook) those Band-Aid notes. | 86

David Williams | A “natural” style, with a certain animal stink, surprisingly prominent tannins, too, but not unpleasantly so. And what intensity of black olive, meat, and blackberry! Some mineral qualities, too. A three-course country restaurant meal of a wine: savory, wild, solar-powered. | 92
