Simon Field | Hints of development on the rim, bricks and even a hint of blood; nose of game and lavender, an odd and strangely beguiling combination, its high-altitude acidity holding its own against what appears to be a natural inclination to be tannic; challenging, exciting winemaking. This lingers long in the memory but may not appeal to all! | 90
Andrew Jefford | Dark though translucent garnet. Overtly sweet, almost jammy scents. Concentrated and dense, with balance from some firm, chewy tannins, and much better on the palate than the very sweet nose suggested it would be. Sound Garnacha with wealth and depth. | 86
David Williams | Port or Banyuls-like in its intensity; arresting, piercing, uncompromising—and fascinating, too; a quintessentially Mediterranean experience, of bright light and shade and wiry scrubland. There’s bitter herb and sweet berry and citrus, and it’s infused with spices (like ratafia) and chewy tannin. Great length. Rather special. | 93
