Bruno Besa | Straw with golden highlights. A mature, broad, yellow-fruit and dried-nut nose, with an intense herbal character. Rich palate, slightly overripe fruit, yet clean and long, withatextbook bitter-almond finish. | 90
Andrew Jefford | A full, developed gold here, though it doesn’t yet look tired. An oaked style? There is some oxidation evident on the aromas, moreover, bringing a little distinctive honeyed complexity. Waxy, too. On the palate, honestly, this is tiring somewhat, though if you want to try a Verdicchio made in this secondary, air-informed style, it’s worth a look. Rich and succulent, though not in my opinion for long keeping. | 87
Michael Palij | Very obvious nose, showing honeyed, leesy, slightly oxidized characters that are now pushing the fruit firmly into second place. The tertiary character is now overwhelming this wine, and it would be disingenuous to suggest that further maturation will have a positive impact. | 78
