Simon Field | Dull straw color; the legs cling to the glass with obdurate simplicity. Nose of the boudoir, with things improving as we approach the heart of the matter. Honest stone-fruit palate, with just a hint of sweetness to offset the austerity bestowed by the low-strung vines and the merciless volcanic backdrop. A strong finish, herbal, uncompromising, and eloquent. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Full bright sunshine-gold. Plump and full, but lacking aromatic definition; indeed slightly heavy and must-like. Give it time; a little later the wine begins to show some honeyed charm and some tephra-like complexities. Deep, rich, very intensely flavored, with huge concentration: long and chewy. A maxed-out, ultra-ripe version of Santorini Assyrtiko compared to many of its taut, ultra-reductive peers; plump and full, with saline edges. Lovely textures, too. A valid alternative. | 90
Demetri Walters | A restrained though ripe apple and lemon bouquet. Full, ripe, and broadly textured. Though boldly styled, a mouthwateringly fresh wine with lovely seashell notes and refreshing citrus twist. Complex and very long. | 95
