Simon Field | Straw color; a soft spritz; aromatic of vanillin and salty butter; behind that, mirabelle plum and orchard fruit. The palate has a metallic foundation, then opens up timidly. Aeration and time bestow a semi-sweet elegance, the peroration elegant and finely hewn. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Pale to mid-gold with a finer mousse than its single sparkling-wine peer. Clean, fresh, relatively neutral aromas, just a little pear fruit, but sappy and attractive with some yeasty interest. The palate is rather raw. Obviously Assyrtiko’s acidity lends itself to a sparkling wine approach, but it’s a style that needs craft and skill, and neither of the sparkling wines in this tasting gets over that hurdle for me. | 83
Demetri Walters | What an unusual bouquet, but altogether interesting and inviting another nosing. Bruised apple and Sherry/yeasty notes dominate now. A fairly ripe and rolling palate with a notable lemon-zest seam. Textured and attractively oxidative. Persistent mousse and altogether really lingering. | 89
