Neil Beckett | This southeast-facing "quasi-monopole" (as the owning Devillard family describes it) was planted between 1922 and 1980, at a high density of 13,000 vines/ha, resulting a complex, rich wine of strong personality. Lustrous medium-deep ruby. Intense, pure, black-fruited aroma, fathomless, with exciting reserve. Finely but richly layered mille-feuille tannins, deep and powerful but not static, a mighty slow-flowing river, with balancing freshness and a fantastic flourishing finish. | 92–93
