Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red, though translucent. Rounded and soft-contoured: lots of warm red fruits, though without much aromatic focus or precision. Sweetly attractive in general terms, however. Intense, deep, vivid, searching, and vibrant; there is lots of drive and force here, though acidity certainly has the upper hand, and in combination with that the tannins can seem a little drying. It is, though, a commanding and dramatic wine, with penetrating raspberry fruit. Very serious Pinot of force, depth, and scale; it lacks a little charm, however. | 88
Jasper Morris: A fine, bright, medium-deep red-purple, with an engaging bouquet mixing fruit and oak to good effect. Though the deep red fruit is beginning to mature, there remains some energy as well, with a little touch of benevolent acidity at the finish. Medium-plus length, a wine probably reaching its apogee now. | 88
Catherine Petrie: Medium ruby. A good concentration of fruit aromas suggests a natural intensity in the wine. Fresh cranberries and pomegranates perfume the nose, and the wine seems to possess a sweetly defined aromatic character on the palate as well. There is much to like in the fruit profile here. The tannins are light but grippy and well formed, and refined acidity weaves through the fruit length. This should continue to develop well over the coming years. | 91
