Andrew Jefford: Deep scarlet though translucent. This wine is slightly reduced as first poured, but it doesn’t vitiate the overall aromatic profile which is now quite rounded and secondary, with ample forest undergrowth complexities to match the raspberry- plum richness. Attractive overall. Deep, firm, quite dark in terms of its acid profile yet close-textured and dense, too; searching and long. Very serious Pinot and a fine wine. The faintly reductive note clears satisfactorily with time in the glass. It’s a very grippy Pinot, though, so not for those looking for silk stockings. | 91
Jasper Morris: A full deep color, with a softly scented plum- laden bouquet. The fruit fills the palate nicely, but is heading into its mature phase so I would recommend drinking in the relatively near future— while it continues to give a lot of pleasure. | 86
Catherine Petrie: Medium garnet with a soft, pale rim. Notes of reduction push the fruit aromas underneath, but they emerge on the palate with freshness and energy. Finely layered tannins and a crunchy freshness give the palate charm. If the reduction blows off, which I suspect it will, this wine has promise. | 88
