Andrew Jefford: Pale and bright: much less deeply hued than most of its 2017 peers, though with some purple as well as scarlet. Another powerfully aromatic wine, with ample aromatic lift: plum, peony, and fur. Light, fresh, and graceful on the palate, very supple in texture, with vivid, poised redcurrant and red-cherry fruit. Pretty, fresh, classic, and convincing. | 88
Jasper Morris: A fine pinkish-purple with a very floral nose, geraniums perhaps. I slightly mistrust the sweetness of the attack followed by a dry finish, so I am not wildly confident about this wine’s future. | 82
Catherine Petrie: Medium ruby with a pale rim. The fruit aroma has a sweet, subtle elegance. This is an understated example, in contrast to the extroversion of the previous wine. Scented wild strawberries and a lightly floral suggestion set the palate up well. It is gentle, harmonious, and elegantly fresh. This is no block-buster, but in its quiet understatement it makes an important point: there is potential in Alsace to produce wines where fruit and terroir can captivate the imagination. | 91
