BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Intense, open, mineral nose, with small red fruits, aromatic herbs, rose water, and some road tar. Medium to full body, with superb, refined tannins, chalk and small-red-fruit mid-palate, and long, inviting finish. Needs time, but this should be one for the cellar. | 94

Andrew Jefford | Clear and translucent; mid-depth of garnet- red. Sustained, round-contoured, and warm-hued aromas. This is not a hugely allusive or refined aromatic profile, but there’s potential pleasure here. On the palate, too, this is a very good wine: balanced, with fine-grained tannins and ripe acidity providing plenty of shaping force; the fruits are warm and ripe; the wine has a long arc in the mouth. A sound rendition of the vintage. | 88

Michael Palij | Developed nose showing rich black fruit and obvious signs of evolution. Black pepper lives alongside bell pepper, black cherry, sultana, and tinned strawberry. In the mouth, the wine has obvious tannins, pronounced black fruit, and high alcohol that dominates proceedings. Future evolution is not pre-ordained. | 86
