BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage | Light yellow. Good presence on the nose, slightly honeyed. Quite rich on entry, some viscosity, but a firm bite of acidity on the finish keeps it in balance. Has length and drinkability. | 89

Bruno Besa | Bright straw. Mature yellow-fruit character, yet restrained and elegant, with intense nutty undertones, cooked apples, and lemon zest. Mature, intense lively palate, with sweet, layered yellow fruit and a long, clean, mineral finish. | 92

Andrew Jefford | Bright mid-gold. Fresh, sappy, vinous, enticing scents, with a soft orchard-fruit sweetness to them and a light floral note. Poised, concentrated, and striking on the palate, too, with plenty of apple, pear, and peach, a supple and roundly creamy texture, vivid though very rounded and soft acidity, and surprising length. This is indubitably “the Italian style” rather than an Alsace style, but it is beautifully managed, poised, sophisticated, long, elegant, vinous, fruit-friendly and satisfying. Very good Pinot Grigio. | 90
