BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Pale straw with green highlights. A touch closed on the nose, with white and yellow fruits, fresh herbs, and hints of crushed stones; slightly medicinal, too. Clean white and yellow fruits on the palate as well. Moderate length. | 88

Andrew Jefford | Bright pale silver-gold. Fresh and clean, but relatively neutral at first sniff. Pure, light, fresh; just the faintest whiff of pear behind the scenery. Takes a lot of scrutiny, though; after a while you discover a fine creaminess that keeps drawing you back. Sappy, bright, and fresh on the palate, with good drive and depth, and in a way the lack of overt primary fruit lends the wine a kind of gastronomic seriousness perhaps it wouldn’t otherwise have. Fine drinking here. | 90

Michael Palij | Obvious nose of stone fruit with Braeburn apple, tinned peaches, nectarines, and almonds creating an exciting backdrop to a marginally dejected palate of candied fruit. | 82
