Essi Avellan: Deep lemon-gold color, with a foamy rim. Expressive, oaky-toned nose, with some oxidative notes. Hay, baked apple, nuts, and floral perfume. Full, winey palate, with good freshness and intensity. Powerful and rich but could do with more finesse. | 87

Simon Field: Deeper color, flaxen, with a persistent bead; aromatics are indulgent, a touch overripe maybe, plums and even toffee-apple recalled, childish indulgence somewhat moderated by the palate, where orchard fruit and autumnal mellow entwine gently. Late picking perhaps, but no shortage of latent complexity. | 85

Tom Stevenson: A high-tone oaky aroma pervades the nose and fruit. Nice cordon of mousse. Some red berry on the aftertaste. | 78
