BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Attractively developed already, with a savory warmth taking the lead over fresh fruits; some earthiness, too. Well-judged use of oak here adds some sweetness and substance to the aromatic profile. On the palate, it is quite light and acid-structured, as are most of the “lesser” St-Estèphes, and not a wine for squirreling away for very long. | 84

Michael Schuster | Ripe fruit and a hint of mineral; medium-full, firmly but finely tannic, lively in acidity. Briskly red fruit in flavor, with an edge that is very much the northern Médoc in 2015, a touch of austerity here—not the pure sunshine of the best of the year, modest scope, good light length. Not really a 2015... A bit of time would be good, if accessible at table now. Now to 2024. | 87?
