Andrew Jefford | Dark, black-red. There are intriguingly minty aromas here; why the menthol behind the fruit? I’m not sure. Pretty blackcurrant, too. Give the wine some air, and that menthol note clears a little, allowing the blackcurrant freshness the driving seat. On the palate, the wine is light, fresh, vivid, and brisk, with acidity more prominent than tannin. There are more concentrated St-Julien wines, but the ripeness and style of the fruit is sound and singing, and it will provide a lot of enjoyment over the short to medium term. | 89
Michael Schuster | Gently ripe-fruited and lightly mineral to smell; medium-full, fresh in acidity, firm in tannin; a nice concentration of flavor within a fairly firm tannic frame. Sapid, long-term Langoa, long to finish; very nice long-term claret. 2027–40+. | 91
