Andrew Jefford | Very dark black-red. There’s a wealth of aroma, though in contrast to most of its appellation peers the complete aromatic profile seems in formation at present. The wine is soft, rounded, with an earthy, rich-fleshed, fine-furred grace. The fruits are subdued; there’s a chocolate and supple leather charm. Rich, ample, and with more late-season ripeness than almost all of its Margaux peers, meaning lower acidity levels and deliciously richer tannins. I see no sense of strain or struggle, however. Generosity incarnate from this well-crafted and substantial wine from the Médoc’s most successful commune in 2015. | 92
Michael Schuster | Closed to smell, and clearly quite oaky; fullish, fresh, firmly tannic, with a nice concentration of fruit, well-balanced in a slightly more muscular vein; plenty of crisply ripe fruit here, refined, gently aromatic, long across the palate, sweet and juicy, clearly framed by a lightly new-wood-firm tannin texture, and with good, gently warm length. Good wine, in its slightly new-oak-firmer style. Give it time. 2027-40+. | 93
