Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red; brooding. Sweet-toned fruits; pretty this year rather than sombre and sérieux. Admirable pleasurable ripeness and, happily, not too much oak. This attractive wine on the palate is deep, vivid but has real freshness; the firm tannins shape the fruit, and the acidity is juicy, poised, and supportive. It’s a little less “pretty” and more ambitious on the palate than the aromas suggested, though there isn’t huge depth to the fruit. A vibrant and attractive Canon- la-Gaff for the medium term. | 90
Michael Schuster | A seductively ripe black-fruited nose; rich, generous, and very nicely balanced; deep, sweet, spicy wine, long across the palate, with no excess force; complex, ample, harmonious, fleshy, rewarding, and with very nice length. Will be attractive throughout its life, drinkable early because of its succulence, but long-term appeal over a doubtless long life. 2024–40+. | 92
